Sarah ROWELL 🇬🇧
I have had a lifelong involvement in athletics combined with a love of the mountains. As a competitor, I competed in the first Olympic marathon and was second in the 1985 London Marathon before moving on to Mountain Running, achieving a best of 2nd place in the 1992 World Championships.
My working life has been in British high performance sport, combined with previously serving on the Board of UK Athletics, being the British Team Leader and also Chair of Selectors for British Mountain Running. I am a member of the European Athletics Off-Road Technical Delegates Panel and, on behalf of WMRA, have been heavily involved in the delivery of the three editions of the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships.
I have served eight years on the WMRA Council, with the last four as Treasurer, and look forward to continuing to develop Mountain Running working with the Council for the next four years as President.
