Meike BILLIG 🇩🇪
I have been working at the German Athletics Federation (DLV) headquarters in Darmstadt since 1999, holding various roles within the areas of Sports for All and Sports Development. Throughout my career, I have been involved in developing educational programmes focused on running and health, organising national initiatives and events, and creating projects that strengthen the connection between runners, clubs, and the athletics community. I also served as Team Manager for the German Masters Team at World and European Championships.
Since 2021, I have been responsible for the DLV’s Mountain and Trail Running programme, a role I am deeply passionate about. As Team Manager of the German Mountain and Trail Running Team, I have the privilege of working closely with athletes, coaches, and international partners to further develop the sport.
I hold a Master’s degree in Sport Science from Goethe University Frankfurt. As a member of the WMRA Council, I am delighted to bring the perspective of a national athletics federation to the WMRA Council and to support the continued growth of mountain running worldwide. I am particularly committed to developing future strategies for the sport and strengthening the International U18 Mountain Running Cup, a project that is especially close to my heart.
